The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association of Ontario (AMEAO) is very pleased to offer the Aviation & Aerospace Workforce Development II (AAWD II) Program (June 30, 2026 to June 29, 2027), as part of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skill Development (MLITSD) Skills Development Fund Training Stream (SDF TS) Round 6.


AAWD will provide opportunities to 2,822 participants. The project will comprise of 4 main components:
- Develop and deliver industry defined new entrant accelerated onboarding and skills development to train 96 participants in Aircraft Maintenance and Aerospace Manufacturing;
- Provide industry upskilling to 202 participants;
- Assist 24 Indigenous Community Member participants with the establishment of a sustainable post project business model and business enterprise within the Aviation & Aerospace supply chain;
- Conduct youth outreach and engagement events to 2,500 participants.
While the target focus is on Indigenous peoples, the program will be made available to all underrepresented groups including Women, Youth, New-Comers, people with visible disabilities and those at risk in collaboration with Industry, Industry Organizations, Indigenous & Diverse Organizations and Unions.
